The lovable and zany Tracy has a new book coming out ( I am the New Black, Book ), and is doing the promotional legwork on a bunch of shows. The book is getting a lot of attention, but it was the audio version of his release that had the gossip juice.
The juice on the ‘net is the rant Morgan makes against his former Saturday Night Live Co-Workers Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan in the audio:
“I could remember being on Saturday Night Live. and being… Feeling like I was at the bottom of the totem pole. I could remember when people like Chris Kattan and Cheri Oteri would probably look down upon me.
I could remember those two, especially those two, people treating me Like I was the invisible guy, Now look where they at.Cheri Oteri, she can’t even get arrested, Where is Chris Kattan now? They’re never going to host Saturday Night Live.
I don’t mean that… that’s not even me. But That’s what happened to me over there. They never treated me well,. There were people that treated me beautifully like Will Farrell, and Colin Quinn, and Molly Shannon. I love them. But Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan never… I never cared for them either. Fuck ‘em.”

Who would’ve thought there would be a feud between these three? Well, he has since opened up about his raving comments with Matt Lauer:
“I don’t have anything against anybody, but what happened happened…at any job, wherever you go, there are gonna be people that don’t get along, that don’t speak. It’s not that we didn’t get along, we just never got. It was none of that with them two. Everybody else, we were like family. That’s the nature of the business. Very competitive.”
Chris Kattan and Cheri Oteri have yet to respond to Morgan’s comments, but Tina Fey is telling everyone to be patient:
“One thing I think is that if you say something about comedians, they will answer you. I feel like we will hear from them. Comedians are not like politicians, who kind of have to take it. Comedians are like, ‘Oh really? Let me say something to you!’”
I haven’t seen Oteri or Kattan since the 20th century, so I would be entertained to see where they pop out of to get into this fight with Tracy Morgan.
I don’t know if his interview with Terry Gross this week is the cherry on top for an eventful media push on his new book, but it is worth a listen. He cries during the interview, lets his guard down with stories about his parents and childhood, and professes his his love for Lorne Michaels. One of the best interviews of all-time, hands down.
